1. 'The Blood Donor Tree' Contest is jointly organised by the Singapore Red Cross and the Bloodbank@HSA (hereinafter known as 'The Organisers').
2. The contest is open to residents in Singapore with a valid NRIC identification.
   • Employees of the Singapore Red Cross, the Health Science Authority and their immediate families are not eligible for this contest.
3. Participants under the age of 18 are required to seek permission from their parents or legal guardian prior to their participation in the contest.
4. Each participant can submit only one entry. i.e.: each NRIC can have only one valid Blood Donor Tree.
5. Only entries with complete and accurate information will be accepted and be deemed as eligible for the Contest. The Organisers will not be responsible for and will not consider incomplete and incorrect entries (names entered must be as shown as in NRIC, valid and correct NRIC number and contact details).
6. Closing date: New entries or changes to existing 'Donor Tree' after 30th September 2010 are ineligible, null and void.
7. The Organisers reserve the right to reject any entry that is deemed unsuitable, (e.g.: offensive content) without having to inform entrants of its actions.
8. Criteria for the winning contest:
   • Primary Criterion: The Donor Tree with maximum number of blood donors in their family tree will qualify for position 1, 2 and 3, respectively.
   • In case of a tie at the Primary Criterion, then the Secondary Criterion will be applied.
     Secondary Criterion: The total number of blood donations per Donor Tree, calculated as a sum of the number of donations by each of the donating members in the Donor Tree.
9. For the purpose of this contest 'Family' is defined as the following in relation to the participant:
   1. Maternal & paternal grand parents
   2. Parents (mother/ father)
   3. Siblings (brothers and sisters)
   4. Maternal uncles and aunts
   5. Paternal uncles and aunts
   6. First cousins (sons & daughters of uncles and aunts)
   7. Spouse (Husband/wife)
   8. Children
   • Family members falling outside of the above-mentioned categories will not be considered for the Donor Tree.
10. The top three winners will be announced on 30th October 2010 at the Grand Event.
    • Prior to the event, the top 10 potential winning families will be notified in advance, requesting their presence at the grand event.
    • Winners will be interviewed by the media for pre- and post-event publicity on the cause.
11. Winners may not request substitutions of prize winnings.
12. If the specified prize on the contest microsite becomes unavailable for any reason, the Organisers in their sole and absolute discretion reserve the right to substitute, add or alter any item on the list of prizes offered.
13. Neither the Organisers nor its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, or assigns shall be liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of the usage of a prize by any winner.
14. The Organisers reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to terminate the contest at any time without prior notice.
15. By entering a contest, you conclusively are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these contest rules and terms and conditions as well as by any rules specific to such contest. This is an irrevocable condition of entry.
16. Contest closing date: 30th September 2009.
